Motifmotion

Custom healthcare eLearning solutions

Motifmotion builds interactive eLearning for healthcare professionals, with animation and video built into the lessons. We turn your policies, procedures and product information into courses staff can finish, remember and apply on the floor.

Every course is built around your own protocols, not a generic library, and runs in your LMS, on a standalone site or on your website.

Sample public health compliance course

One public health course, built two ways

Both courses below teach the same lesson for PHMC, a Pennsylvania public health organization: the state's tobacco sales law for store clerks. The traditional course is built for scale and is quick to update. The custom scenario course puts learners at the counter, checking IDs and making the calls they'll face on a real shift. It's healthcare compliance training people actually finish.

  • Practice realistic workplace situations
  • Make decisions, see the consequences and get targeted feedback
  • A premium experience people remember

PA Act 112 Tobacco Merchant Training

PHMC's eight episodes played as one shift at a corner store: walk the store, unpack the delivery, check IDs against today's date, then work a scored shift at the register.

Test either version in your own LMS.

What are healthcare eLearning solutions?

Healthcare eLearning solutions are online courses built for healthcare organizations and the people who work in them: nurses, clinicians, support staff and the teams who train them. They replace slide decks and classroom sessions with lessons learners take at their own pace, with practice and knowledge checks that show what they understood.

Off-the-shelf healthcare training covers the general version of a topic. Custom e-learning for healthcare is built around your protocols, your facilities and your learners, so the training matches what staff actually do. For the full picture of how we build courses, see custom elearning development.

Healthcare training courses we build

Every healthcare eLearning course starts from your material and your training requirements. These are the requests we see most.

Healthcare compliance training

Policies and regulations turned into short scenarios staff work through, with a record of who completed what.

Infection control training

Hand hygiene, PPE and isolation steps shown in animation, then checked with practice questions.

Healthcare staff training and onboarding

New hires learn the facility, the role and the routines, with the same course reused for every start date.

Clinical eLearning for procedures

Step-by-step procedures with visuals learners can replay before they perform them.

Medical device training

How a device works and how to use it safely, with animated close-ups of each step.

Patient safety refreshers

Short annual modules on patient safety and quality that are quick to finish and easy to update.

Healthcare learning for patients

Hackensack Meridian Health: kidney cancer series

A six-video animated series for Hackensack Meridian Health that helps patients understand a kidney cancer diagnosis: robot-assisted surgery, the care team, advance care planning, hereditary risk and the three treatment pathways. One character system runs across all six, so patients follow one story from diagnosis to treatment.

Healthcare learning isn't only for staff. The same lessons can run as patient-facing videos or as short courses with questions. See patient education and the Hackensack Meridian case study.

Animation and video built into healthcare courses

A lot of healthcare e-learning is slides and a quiz. Ours puts animation and video inside the lesson, where learners need it: a procedure shown step by step, a conversation with a patient played out, a process that's easier to watch than to read.

This scene is from a 32-episode training series for Healthcare Services Group, whose staff work in healthcare facilities across the country. When you need the video on its own, see healthcare training videos and medical animation.

Pharmaceutical eLearning and pharma training

Pharmaceutical training companies usually sell one of two things: a course library, or a platform. Motifmotion builds the course itself: product and disease-state training, mechanism-of-action lessons and HCP education modules for field, medical and training teams.

The animation is the same kind we produce for pharmaceutical and biotech clients, built into lessons with knowledge checks so your LMS records who completed each one. See our pharmaceutical animation work.

Two ways to build a healthcare eLearning course

Some healthcare programs need clear lessons and assessments that your team can update when a policy changes. Others need realistic scenarios staff can practice before they face them. We help you choose the learning experience first, then the tool that fits your organization and your LMS.

Articulate Storyline or Rise

Storyline and Rise are the authoring tools most hospital and health system education teams already use. We build your course in them and hand over the project files, so your educators can update a policy or protocol themselves. A good fit for annual compliance training and courses that change often.

Custom HTML5

A course built from scratch, so every screen can do what clinical content needs: a patient scenario staff play through, a device they practice using, animation that shows what happens inside the body. It's designed around your brand and packaged for your LMS. A good fit when judgment and practice matter.

Most healthcare training needs more than a video. We produce the animation and build the practice around it, such as knowledge checks, branching patient scenarios and step-by-step walkthroughs, then package the module so your LMS can track completion and scores.

Completion alone doesn't show what staff understood. The questions and scenarios around the video do.

Three ways to scope a healthcare eLearning project

Healthcare eLearning comes in three levels, from video-led lessons to a fully custom course. Video modules explain essential information, a traditional interactive course checks understanding, and a custom experience lets staff rehearse decisions.

Video + SCORM

Video eLearning modules

Short animated or video lessons, each followed by a knowledge check. Best for straightforward healthcare topics such as annual refreshers and patient-facing explainers.

Traditional interactive course

Lessons with questions, practice and feedback, built in Storyline or Rise, with animation where it helps. Includes assessments and your editable project files. Best for compliance, onboarding and policy training across many staff.

Custom HTML5

Custom eLearning experience

Instructional design plus a custom HTML5 course with scenarios built for your setting: a shift on the unit, a conversation with a patient, a procedure step by step. Best when clinical judgment and practice matter.

Our healthcare eLearning development process

Healthcare eLearning development runs in four stages. You review and approve each one before the next starts.

  1. 1. Plan

Instructional design comes first. We work with your educators and subject-matter experts to define the learners, the learning objectives and who signs off. Then we outline the modules, write the scripts and mock up each screen.

    Instructional design →
  2. 2. Create

We build the lessons, animation and video, practice interactions, quizzes and knowledge checks. Most healthcare courses start from material you already have: policies, protocols, slide decks or recorded sessions.

  3. 3. Clinical review

Scripts and storyboards are checked by your clinical lead before anything is animated, and the finished course is reviewed again for accuracy before launch.

  4. 4. Deliver and support

We package the course for your LMS, so you get completion, scores and progress for every learner. After launch, we update content when protocols change and can adapt a course into other languages.

Healthcare eLearning FAQs

Healthcare eLearning solutions are online courses built for healthcare organizations and staff: compliance, clinical procedures, onboarding, device and product training. Custom solutions are built around your own protocols instead of a generic course library.

Healthcare compliance training teaches staff the laws, regulations and internal policies that apply to their work, such as privacy, safety and billing rules. eLearning makes it easier to deliver every year and to keep a record of who completed it.

Use short scenarios based on real situations, ask learners to make decisions rather than read rules, show procedures in animation, and keep each module short enough to finish in one sitting. The PHMC sample courses above show two ways to do this.

Yes. Motifmotion builds product and disease-state training, mechanism-of-action lessons and HCP education modules for pharmaceutical and biotech teams, with the animation built into the course.

Your clinical lead checks the scripts and storyboards before anything is animated, and the finished course is reviewed again before launch. Motifmotion works from your protocols and source material rather than writing clinical content from scratch.

Courses are packaged as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or xAPI, the standards most learning management systems accept, so your LMS can track completion, quiz scores and progress. We confirm which format your LMS needs during planning.

Yes. Slide decks, policy documents, protocols and recorded sessions are common starting points. We rework them into objectives, lessons and practice rather than copying slides onto screens.
