## Mac Paper + Packaging – Operational case study series

We produced six animated case studies for Mac Paper + Packaging, a packaging, signage and print distributor. Each one documents a real customer engagement: a wide-format printing ceiling, a throughput problem at a sign shop, an automation fix for foam rolls, a manual pack process that had stalled, a labeling automation build, and a packaging redesign. This is [industrial video production](/services/industrial-video-production) applied to sales rather than training.

Mac's own customers are described rather than named throughout the series, which is how the client wanted them handled.

## One engagement, one bottleneck, one shift

Every episode runs the same shape. Name the customer's operation, name the specific thing that had stalled, show what Mac installed or redesigned, and end on what changed. Nothing else gets in.

A recreational-products manufacturer was hand-painting every athletic sign on stretched fabric using custom-cut stencils, which capped how many jobs it could take. Mac installed a roll-to-roll print machine that replaced most of the manual work, and two years later the customer added a second machine. A Florida bait manufacturer had eight workers assembling boxes, loading worms and labeling by hand at about 12 packs a minute. An automatic shrink and labeling system took that to 24 a minute with two workers.

Those numbers are the customers' operational outcomes as the episodes document them. The discipline is refusing to add anything that is not the bottleneck or the fix.

- One customer engagement per episode
- The bottleneck named specifically, not generically
- The equipment or redesign shown, not described
- 75 to 85 seconds, six times over

## Manufacturing video production that makes a process legible

The subject matter is warehouse floors, print lines, packaging lines and labeling systems. Manufacturing animation has to make a process readable to someone who has never stood on that floor, without flattening it into a diagram.

The series uses character work for the people and iconography for the systems. A Mac rep and a customer walk the floor while the equipment is drawn accurately enough to be recognisable: an automatic side-seal machine and a double chamber shrink tunnel, a four-by-eight flatbed printer, a roll-to-roll press. Naming the equipment matters, because a manufacturing buyer watching the episode knows whether the studio understood the operation.

This is the same technical animation approach we bring to machine commissioning and industrial training work, applied here to a sales problem instead of a training one.

- Warehouse floors, print lines and packaging lines
- Equipment drawn accurately and named on screen
- Iconography for systems, character work for people
- Legible to someone who has never seen the operation

## Built for the sales floor, not the brand film

These are sales enablement pieces. They play in a rep's hands during a pitch, which is a different production brief from a brand film.

It changes three things. Length is capped, because a rep has a minute and a half at most. Structure is identical across the set, so a rep knows what they are handing over and a prospect who watches two recognises the format. And the subject is always the customer's operation rather than Mac's capabilities, which is what makes them credible to the next prospect in the same industry.

It is closer to [corporate animated video](/services/corporate-animated-video) in intent than to an [explainer video production](/services/explainer-video-production) build, because the job is to move a specific conversation forward rather than to explain a product to everyone.

- Sized for use inside a sales conversation
- Structurally identical across the set
- The customer's operation, not the vendor's capability list
- Repeatable as new engagements land

## Where this manufacturing video production model works best

This model suits manufacturing, packaging, industrial distribution, machine commissioning, and any B2B operation where the value delivered is a process change the customer cannot see. Equipment installs, automation projects, throughput and labor reduction, packaging redesign.

The test is whether the outcome is invisible. If what you sold was a change in how a line runs, a photograph of the machine does not communicate it and a PDF does not either. Manufacturing animation works here because it can show the before state, the intervention, and the after state in the same ninety seconds.

- Manufacturing and packaging operations
- Industrial distribution and equipment suppliers
- Machine commissioning and automation projects
- Any process change a customer cannot see
